xpedx and Geodis form a new strategic alliance to broaden their logistics offer to a world level

Today, xpedx and Geodis, two high-profile logistics service providers, announced that they are forming a global strategic alliance that will enable the two companies to broaden their services and geographical coverage on a world scale.

Geodis and xpedx are now proposing a comprehensive range of logistics chain management services to the world’s top players in industry and distribution.
Their new alliance will enable them to offer all logistical services, including air/sea/ multimodal transport, asset and stock management, return logistics, requirement scheduling, and “Web reporting”, which supplies detailed information for each stage of a customer’s logistics chain.
This alliance will help the two companies serve their customers better, and provide logistical support in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and South America.

“With the Geodis network, xpedx can now serve its customers wherever their operations or logistical requirements may be located,” says Vice Chairman Dan Watkoske, also Sales Director of xpedx. “We will offer Geodis complete geographical cover and a logistics service now extended to the entire American territory. They will provide a reciprocal service for customers whose operations are outside the United States.” “This alliance comes in addition to our recent acquisition of TNT Freight Management, now known as Geodis Wilson, through which we carry out a large number of forwarding operations in the United States. The Geodis Group can now widen its world offer to include the entire American territory,” says Jean-Louis Demeulenaere, Deputy Managing Director in charge of Geodis Strategy and Development. “We are also very happy to enable xpedx to extend its offer on a worldwide scale.”
